Nikon D3000

Finally all was clear, Nikon has offered two choices of entry-level DSLR D5000 and D3000. The same thing we have met in the brand Canon and Pentax, by providing two options DSLR camera beginner classes, because the market in this class so much. Could also be felt if the price Nikon D5000 is still too expensive, or because there are people who do not need the feature movie, which was made this D3000. Well, one thing that distinguishes this D3000 than D5000 is the absence of his brother's movie feature, which means also the absence of a folding LCD system, and (unfortunately) the absence of all live-view feature. Fortunately, the D3000 is still wearing the same AF module with the D5000 is a 11 point AF (which could be used dirumorkan point 7) so that the D3000 is far more flexible in terms of selection, the AF class than brand competitors (such as EOS 1000D or Pentax Km).
D60 vs D3000

Nikon D3000 is practically like a D60 body implanted into the D5000, with the AF module, and replace the LCD screen. Both D3000 and D60 are still sharing the same sensor, the same burst performance (3 fps), the same ISO (ISO 100-1600), flash sync speed is the same (1 / 200 second) and even the same viewfinder. Unfortunately, the D3000 also inherit the absurdity of not providing D40/60 Bracketing feature. As for some different things (enhanced) between the D3000 with D40/60:

* 11 point AF (formerly 3 point AF)
* 3D tracking AF (previously this feature was not in D40/60)
* 3-inch LCD (formerly 2.5 inches)
* View menu (guide mode and guide menu)

So if you originally planned to buy Nikon D60, consider also the presence of D3000 to wait for superior AF performance, though in other cases D300 and D60 are relatively the same. But if you have enough with only a 3 point AF, the D60 can be a best-buy because we predicted the price will fall (before finally discontinuous as D40).
D3000 vs D5000

For those who had planned to buy Nikon D5000, consider whether you need this feature trio: HD movie - LCD folding - live view. If the answer is yes, then surely D5000 is the absolute choice. But if not, with cheaper funds (the difference between 2 million) you can wait for the presence of the D3000 are designed similar and also uses the same AF module with D5000 (11 point AF, plus 3D tracking AF). There is no information whether the D3000 also has a high shutter count like the D5000, but according to Ken Rockwell can reach 100 thousand times a snap. Of course D5000 as Nikon DSLR beginners art classes have more advantages than this new sibling, such as:

* 12 MP CMOS sensor (exactly the same as D90)
* ISO range 200-3200
* 4 fps burst performance (3 fps in D3000)
* Already mentioned above: HD movie - LCD fold - live view
* Five choices Active D lighting mode (in D3000 only on / off)
* Correction automatically CA
* In-camera retouch complete

So if the funds are insufficient, choose D5000 seems still more worthed. D5000 is virtually 'baby D90' aliases such as D90 without AF motor in the body. D5000 in fact even a very high demand by those who had enough funds to buy the D90. But frankly, D3000 was already very good for beginners, especially with its AF performance (especially if the lenses are fitted expensive class). D3000 was wearing the same Picture Control with any other Nikon DSLR, ensuring consistency in the quality of tone, saturation, contrast and sharpness.
Equality D3000, D5000 and D60

Both D3000, D5000 and the lawas D60, all three are equally DSLR entry-level class who still has differences with the caste above (such as D90 and D300). All three share a common basic specifications are as follows:

* No AF motor in the body
* Viewfinder mirror
* 420-segment metering module
* Anti-dust
* 12-bit engine Expeed

So, if the D3000 is worthy of being champion class cheap DSLR? In some aspects yes, but remember that competitors like the EOS 1000D is equipped with live-view, plus an AF motor in the body. Moreover, it is possible to create a successor to Canon EOS 1000D which may be more superior in terms of performance AF or maybe another surprise. The decision eliminates Nikon D3000 folding LCD is also unfortunate, but Olympus E-620 has a folding swivel LCD is impressive, with prices not much different.
